thelowdownFour decades of Omaha kids played on the Richman-Gordman Zooland animals. After bringing years of joy to countless numbers of children, the pack was separated. Years went by and the animals aged and fell into disrepair. At last, the pack is has found its way to a new habitat at Omaha Children’s Museum.

Omaha Children's Museum thanks you for your support in helping bring back the pack for a new generation of children. Take a moment to read about Zooland history, share your own memories and give your support! Then, help us spread the word about the pack. This elephant-size effort is going to continue to take the love of the entire community.

i love the pack
I rember going to Richmond Grodmens, and as soon as i got into to the store i would always go to that part of the store and my mom would not care. And she would know ware i was at. In this day in age you would not do that with kids. YOu have to have them right by your side. Man how times have change. I went there today and iam 23 years old and i went back to being 3 and 5 years old agine. And they still look the same have not change. - Jenna
I used to play here all the time. It was amazing. Its weird because for years, I have been searching for any sign of these monuments! I loved the hippo and the camel, sliding into their bellies! Climbing all over them. My brother Andy and I used to play for hours. It was really sad when we stopped being able to go and play at Richmond Gordman. It was my favorite store! The elephant was always so busy! I still loved it, climbing up to the slide. I have vivid images of these structures. Even the kangaroo! I guess I am going to have to borrow a child the next time I come to town just to go let them play :) - Amanda
WOW what a wonderful memory for me. I was the youngest of 6 kids, and my mother would take us school clothes shopping back in the late 60's early 70's and we would nearly knock each other over to get to Zooland!! I can still feel how it was like going up the stairs of the elephant slide and then whoosh down to the bottom. I remember us playing hide-and-go-seek around Zooland (with six of us it was usually a short game) but boy was it fun!! I seriously have tears in my eyes just thinking back on those days! Thanks for the memories!! Susan - Susan
